Largest indoor arena in Belgium, opened 11 September 1933 as a velodrome built by the Apostel-Mampaey family from Boom. The elliptical building features a roof spanning 11,600 m² without supporting pillars. Originally hosted legendary Six-Day cycling races (1934-1983) before evolving into one of Europe’s premier concert and event venues. Capacity expanded from 18,400 to 23,001 during 2011-2013 renovations. Ranked second most visited event hall worldwide (after Madison Square Garden) by Billboard Magazine in 2007-2008. Renamed AFAS Dome on 1 September 2025 following a naming partnership with Dutch software company AFAS. Operated by be•at. Has hosted The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Prince, U2, Metallica, Adele and countless others.
