Iconic Art Deco cultural complex designed by architect Victor Horta, inaugurated in 1928-1929. The centrepiece is the Henry Le Boeuf Hall with 2,200 seats across four levels, home to the Belgian National Orchestra and the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Competition finals. Praised by Nikolaus Harnoncourt as one of the best concert halls in Europe for its acoustics. The complex spans 33,000 m² and also houses the Salle M (470 seats), the Studio (210 seats), exhibition galleries, cinema halls (CINEMATEK) and conference rooms. A federal cultural institution presenting music, visual arts, theatre, dance, literature, cinema and architecture.
